I am a journalist interested in the intersection of data science and explanatory journalism. I am the Editor of the Oxford Review of Books and run a podcast series for the Oxford Political Review (available on Spotify and Apple). I cover topics related to US/East Asian politics, technology, and the media.
I have also worked as a data analyst for Amazon and an economic consultant for Analysis Group Inc. My main specializations are in econometrics, natural language processing, and interactive data visualizations. I am an expert in R and Python with proficiency in Stata, SAS, SQL, and Java. As an academic, I study the relationship between media and democracy, and how contemporary republican philosophy can help us navigate our present media environment.
