Chang Che is a non-fiction writer covering Chinese politics and society. He is currently a reporter at the New York Times covering tech in Asia. His writing has appeared in The New Yorker, The Washington Post, The Atlantic, Foreign Affairs, The LA Review of Books, The Point, Nikkei Asia, and others. Born and partly raised in Tokyo, he occasionally writes about Japan and is fluent in Mandarin and Japanese.

Previously, he worked as a data analyst for Amazon and an economic consultant for Analysis Group Inc. He is a founder of the Oxford Political Review and a former editor-in-chief of Oxford’s magazine of arts and letters, the Oxford Review of Books. He was also a former opinion columnist at The Daily Princetonian.
